Honors/Achievements:
ODK; in wrestling: second in Southern Conference twice, fourth once
Highlight of wrestling career at
Washington and Lee? Road trips to West Virginia U, Citadel and to Lancaster, PA (Millersville and Franklin & Marshall)
What do you miss most about wrestling
at W&L? Friends! and discipline under Coach Dick Miller
What effect has wrestling had in your
career path? I practiced with the team in graduate school (UNC-CH, English) and
at Davidson College until I was about forty (moving kind of slow!) and now I
stop by practice regularly and go to all the home matches and when possible away matches. Wrestling has helped me appreciate the “scholar-athlete” in all
sports.
Favorite class and/or Professor at
W&L? Dr. Flournoy in the English Department
What is the one thing you think people
have to experience during their time at W&L? Chemistry lab and sports
