January 14th, the Generals hosted the W&L Invitational wrestling tournament. The Generals totaled 150 points to place first, followed by Bridgewater College with 90.5 points, West Virginia Tech with 87.0 points, East Tennessee State with 86.0 points, Southern Virginia with 59.0 points and Liberty with 57.0 points.
Morgan Moskal had tremendous fight winning his first college tournament and was selected tournament MVP.
I saw the whole tournament. W&L’s whole team is to be commended for their clean and crisp moves—from setups to execution to finish; their aggression in driving for takedowns and pins; and their ability to come from behind. It was fun to watch.
