A running update on Ron Tassoni’s trip to the NCAA DIII National Championships in Cedar Rapids, IA. Check here frequently to follow Ron’s journey to earn Washington & Lee University’s first All-American honors since Richard Redfoot in 1988.
The Travel Day: Wednesday March 9
Arriving at the Roanoke Airport early Wednesday morning, we are greeted by some bad news. Our flight to Chicago-O’Hare had been cancelled by United. Instead of getting into Cedar Rapids by 12:30 pm, we are rerouted via Atlanta to Minneapolis-St. Paul, before finally arriving in Cedar Rapids at 4:35 PM.
Arriving in Cedar Rapids
Greeted by a welcoming sign right after disembarking from our third flight of the day and landing in Cedar Rapids’ small airport.
And Finally, the Arena… The US Cellular Center in downtown Cedar Rapids, IA, one of the coolest arenas in the country and an awesome host to the NCAA DIII National Championships.
Awesome.
Thanks for sharing the journey so far. I am getting excited just seeing the arena and all the shining mats. Good luck to Ron in his quest for All-American. It would be the ultimate icing on an already wonderful career and a great accomplishment for the program as well. Go Blue!
