The Washington and Lee Wrestling Generals opened the 2016-17 season with a road trip to Ferrum College. It was a great way to open the season against a neighboring school, and one that is ranked among the top 25 teams in the nation. The Generals wrestled well, but ultimately came up short, falling 28-13. Still, there were numerous bright spots, including two first years (Shane Conners (157) and Rexx Hallyburton (184)) getting their first collegiate victories. Fellow first year Joe Scott (165) was also mere seconds away from a victory before giving up a 6-pt move to his back. Also getting a victory and getting his season off to a great start was sophomore 133-lber Zach Bylykbashi.

Up next for the Generals is the Washington and Jefferson Invitational, in Washington, PA. Action will get underway Saturday morning Nov 12. Below are some photos taken by Perry Lloyd, W&L class of 1984. More are available on the W&L Wrestling Flickr page
