Centennial Conference Championships Wrap Up

Just over a week ago, the Generals wrapped up the Centennial Conference schedule with a runner-up finish at the Centennial Conference Championships. It was wrestling’s best ever finish in the Centennial Conference, improving on last year’s third place finish. Shane Conners ’20 (165) led the Generals with a runner-up finish. Three others finished in third place: Ethan Hartman ’19 at 125 lbs, Joe Salerno ’22 (157), Rexx Hallyburton ’20 (184). Four Generals reached the consolation finals and finished 4th: Zach Bylykbashi ’19 (141), Bryce Crew ’21 (149), Brad Basham ’22 (197), and Clay Chadwick ’22 (285). 

This tournament follows on a very successful dual meet season, where the Generals also finished 2nd, beating Johns Hopkins 29-12, USMMA 25-16, Gettysburg 29-12, and McDaniel 32-10. The trip to Ursinus and Muhlenberg was cancelled due to weather and the Generals fell to Stevens, who went on to also win the conference tournament.

Regional Tournament Preview

This weekend the Generals travel to Lycoming College for the Southeast Regional Tournament, the qualifier for the NCAA National Championships, which will be held in Roanoke, VA on March 8-9. The field is 20 teams, and the top three wrestlers in each weight class will qualify for the National Championships. The Generals look to put an exclamation point on what has been a good season by doing well this weekend. Let’s take a look at each weight class.
