The Regional tournament is the culmination of each season, as it is the last time the full team competes together. The Generals put together a great collective effort, finishing in 6th place as a team, and scoring 82.5 team points, both of them team bests! Seven Generals placed in the top 8, led by tournament champion Rexx Hallyburton. His victory earned him a berth to the NCAA Championships on March 8-9 in Roanoke, VA.

In addition to Rexx’s breakout tournament, six other Generals placed in the top 8. Fellow junior Shane Conners narrowly missed qualifying for nationals for the second straight year, falling in the third place match. Sophomore Bryce Crew finished in 6th place and first year wrestlers Ryan Luth and Charlie Cunningham both finished in 8th place.
Seniors Ethan Hartman and Zach Bylykbashi closed out amazing careers this past weekend that need to be recognized. Ethan Hartman finished his career with a 7th place finish, his best ever result. He finished out his season with 19 wins, a 5-0 conference dual record, and a 3rd place finish in the Centennial Conference Tournament – are all career bests for him! Zach capped off his career with a 5th place finish, earning his 100th career victory in the final seconds of his final match in a W&L singlet! He will graduate as the winningest wrestler in W&L history.
