BIO

2017-2018

Shane improved on the results of his first year, placing 4th at the NCAA Southeast Regional, narrowly missing out on a bid to the National Tournament. He also took 4th at the Centennial Conference Championships and finished 18-8 (5-1 conf. duals) on the season. Despite missing the middle of the season due to injury, Shane was one of the team’s most consistent performers. He also excelled in the classroom, and was named a NWCA Academic All-American for the second straight season. 

2016-2017

Shane had a breakout freshman campaign, finishing the season with 24 wins, second most on the team. He took 4th in the Centennial Conference Championships and placed at ONU (4th), W&J (5th), and the Jim Crytzer Invitational (2nd). Shane finished the season as the team leader in takedowns (65) and was awarded the Gary Franke Takedown Award. He was also named an NWCA Academic All-American.

Before W&L

Shane earned four varsity wrestling letters and two in football at South Carroll High School. He helped lead the wrestling team to three state championships, taking 4th individually as a junior and winning a MD individual state championship as a senior while finishing the year undefeated at 54-0. He was also a two-year captain for the wrestling team.

Personal

The son of Tim and Audrey Conners.  Shane intends to focus on Business Administration in the Williams School of Commerce, Economics, and Politics.
